Gatsby Evening

The programme

The evening

Five movements, one ballroom and a room full of evening wear. This is how a Gatsby Evening runs from the first drink to the last dance.

Arrival

Guests in 1920s evening wear take champagne from a silver tray in an art deco foyer

Doors open to a reception in the foyer of the ballroom. Coats are taken, the first drink is poured, and the evening photographer sets up for portraits against the deco backdrop. It is the moment to find your table, meet your party and take in the room.

Please bring government-issued photo ID. The evening is for guests aged 18 and over, and our door team asks anyone who appears to be under 25 to show identification before entry.

Dinner

A long gala table with candles, crystal glasses, white flowers and emerald napkins

Dinner is seated, served at long tables dressed in emerald linen, candlelight and crystal. Parties who reply together are seated together.

Tell us about allergies or dietary needs in your R.S.V.P. and our events team will confirm what can be arranged with the kitchen before the evening.

The show

A singer in a sequined gown and a jazz band under a spotlight on a ballroom stage

After dinner the lights come down on the ballroom stage for a show in the manner of the Jazz Age: music, dance and the sound of the period. Once the show ends, the band stays on and the dance floor opens.

The tables

Through the rest of the night the event tables are open: blackjack, roulette and poker, hosted by dealers who teach as they deal. Every guest receives the same play-money stack at no charge. Chips cannot be bought, sold or exchanged, nothing is staked and no prize of monetary value is awarded, so a seat at the table is simply part of the party. How the tables work.

The last dance

The band plays the room out at close. Chips stay on the tables, coats come back from the cloakroom, and guests staying at the resort have only a short walk to the lifts.

Dress code

Evening dress of the 1920s is warmly encouraged and never required. Think beaded or fringed dresses, long pearls, feathered bands and evening gloves; dinner jackets, three-piece suits, bow ties and braces. A dark suit or a cocktail dress is entirely at home in the room.

Tickets

A ticket is $420 per guest, plus applicable taxes. It covers the dinner, the show and the ballroom until close. The tables sit outside the price and are open to every guest. To request tickets, send an R.S.V.P.; our events team confirms availability, dates and payment details by email. No payment is taken on this website.
