1. Who is responsible
This website and Gatsby Evening are operated by Nielsen Design Group Ltd., 1500 West 2nd Avenue, Suite 300, Vancouver, BC V6H 3Y4, Canada. We are responsible for the personal information described in this policy. Our privacy contact is reachable at events@rivercree-event.com.
River Cree Resort & Casino, the host venue, is a separate organisation with its own privacy practices. This policy covers only this website and the evening we organise.
2. The law we follow
We handle personal information in line with British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and, where it applies, the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). We send email only in reply to your request or with your consent, as required by Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation.
3. What we collect
- From the R.S.V.P. form: your name, email address, the number of guests, a preferred month and anything you choose to write in the message field, such as names in your party or dietary and access needs.
- From emails you send us: your email address and the content of your message.
- From your visit: standard server logs kept by our hosting provider (IP address, browser type, pages requested and time), used only for security and to keep the site running.
We do not use analytics, advertising pixels, fingerprinting or any third-party tracking on this website.
4. Why we use it
- To answer your R.S.V.P., confirm dates and tickets, and arrange seating, dietary needs and access for the evening.
- To write to you about Gatsby Evening dates when you have asked to be on the guest list.
- To keep the website secure and prevent abuse of the form.
5. Who we share it with
We never sell or rent personal information. We share only what is needed to run the evening: party names, seating, dietary and access needs may be passed to the host venue for the night you attend. Our email and hosting providers process data on our behalf under contract. We disclose information to authorities only where the law requires it.
6. How long we keep it
R.S.V.P. details are kept for up to 12 months after the last evening you were invited to, then deleted. Server logs are kept for no more than 30 days. You can ask us to delete your details sooner at any time.
7. Where it is stored
Our service providers may store information on servers in Canada or in other countries. Where information is stored outside Canada, it may be accessible to authorities there under local law. We choose providers that protect it with safeguards comparable to Canadian standards.
8. Your rights
You may ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, withdraw your consent to further contact, or ask us to delete it. Write to events@rivercree-event.com; we reply within 30 days, as required by PIPA.
9. Security
The form is sent over an encrypted connection, protected against automated submissions and delivered by email to our events team only. Access to R.S.V.P. details is limited to the people who organise the evening.
10. Storage on your device
The website keeps two small preferences in your browser and uses one session cookie on the R.S.V.P. page. The full list is in our Cookie Policy.
11. Complaints
If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia at oipc.bc.ca or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca.
12. Age
Gatsby Evening is for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18 and delete it if we learn that we have.
13. Changes
We update this policy when our practices change. The date at the top shows the latest version.
